Orange Sky- Alexi Murdoch

i have no idea why i'm such a consistent blogger. technically this is just entertainment, no?

so i got home just around midnight and mother was lecturing me about her endless sacrifices and how i should care more about the family. then she did something which i find totally ironic and only achievable by a mother:

mother: (sighs) oh and i cut you some apples.

and she gave me a bowl of apples, right after she showed me how unhappy she was.

i guess i tend to forget sometimes that family runs in my veins. they are the people you trust to stick a pill up your arse when you have fever. they are also the ones who love you despite seeing your nose bogey hanging out after a bad sinus morning.

so mother is going to be out-stationed to sydney for a while, and my gramps will be staying over. this time it'll be different, because we no longer have a maid.
i'm not bragging or anything but, i've had a maid since i was 5.
this excuses my being not used to it, which also explains why my mother's American fiance has been doing the laundry ever since we moved.

it's time i developed some sense of responsibility, hence the following resolutions:

thou shall
learn how to operate the washing machine and the dryer,
make my bed EVERY morning,
clean up my room at least twice a week,
tidy up every now and then,
set a good example for my sister.

thou shall NOT
return home past midnight more than 4 times in a month,
club more than once a month,
spend money like it's the niagara falls,
pick up unnecessary habits.

i realise how pathetic it is to have to list such 'duh' things down as resolutions. they are all perfectly within an idiot's capabilities.
and of course, atop all these is getting better grades for this semester.

anyhow, i caught A Chinese Tall Story today.
it's an absoloutely silly ridiculous incredulous movie but out of which was one bit of sense.
there's the part when Tripitaka was bloodied and dying, and Buddha (with the huge diamond earrings- Queen Elizabeth would be jealous) commented that love can only last without expectations, because then there would be no end.

Well I had a dream
I stood beneath an orange sky
Yes I had a dream
I stood beneath an orange sky
With my brother and my sister standing by
